Happy Birthday Noah

Filed under: Tinkleflick News — Ralph @ 10:41 pm

DSCN0051_small.jpgNoah turns four this week (on the 9th) and we celebrated with a blow-out party including just about every kid Noah’s age that we know (plus siblings and parents). This party had everything that is expected of a big kid-friendly birthday party including a Cars(TM) jumper, a balloon animal artist (our friend April who was awesome–if you are ever interested in a balloon animal artist, let us know), mexican food from one of our favorite places, Baja Sonora (proudly owned and operated by our friend Matt), a Cars(TM) pinata and a giant cake. Whew! We had a great time at the party but as the official Sherpa of the event, I am tired. I am too old and out of shape to be the Sherpa of a party this size. Noah elected (with a bit of urging) to forgo gifts in favor of taking up a collection for “dogs without homes”.  He collected over 125 items including dog treats, toys, blankets, food dishes, etc.  He delivered the items to Hearts for Hounds in Long Beach where got our dog and to the Long Beach Animal Shelter (both are worthy causes and we certainly encourage donations).  In all, Noah had a great time at his party and collecting things for shelter dogs and our little boy is just growing up so quickly in front of our eyes.

December Photo Album Released

Filed under: Tinkleflick News — Ralph @ 10:52 pm

Wendy has finished the December album, as usual, right on time.  We have been using Shutterfly recently and we now have our own page on Shutterfly for all of our albums.  We might decide later to go back to Ofoto but, for now, feel free to look up the recent albums in Shutterfly.

Happy New Year!

47b7df20b3127cce985488ecaaf500000027101Ybt2Llix4.jpgWe extended what has become a family tradition over the last few years of not actually making it to midnight.  Our workaround, watching the East Coast feed on satellite TV, was foiled by stupid DirecTV and their lame habit of changing their programming packages and policies all the time.  Anyway, we had a nice New Year’s Eve and we hope you did too.

Of course, New Year’s Eve is a minor holiday in our house.  Natalie’s birthday kicks off the festivities on December 19th, followed closely by the tidal wave known as Christmas.  This year, the kids attended four separate celebrations!  Noah went a bit beserk and Natalie just played with the wrapping paper (although she did definitely enjoy her musical instruments).  Next up…Noah’s birthday.  This 20 day period of time between Natalie’s birthday and Noah’s birthday will keep us busy every year for the rest of our lives, so we’d better get used to it.  In fact, we have already started planning next year’s extravaganza!

In any case, we had a nice holiday season (once we all got done being sick) and we are looking forward to the New Year!
