Credit Union Night at the Long Beach Ice Dogs

43.jpgWe always look forward to this time of year. No, not the NCAA tournament, not the beginning of baseball, not the return of daylight savings. Nope, none of these. We look forward to getting the credit union statement with the flyer for Credit Union Night at the Long Beach Ice Dogs, our own ECHL team that is the minor league affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens!

For the last several years, Wendy has organized a group outing to an Ice Dogs game each season and we always have a lot of fun and sometimes wonder why we don’t go to more games. The tickets are reasonably priced and the game is always fun to watch while we hang out with friends we haven’t seen in a while and make new friends too.

Noah enjoyed the game, but didn’t like the loud music and such during game stops and after goals. He did like hanging out with his ‘best friend’, tinkleflick.com featured columnist, Rocky as well as other members of the Noah fan club.

As it turns out, the game we went to was against the Victoria Salmon Kings and the Ice Dogs’ solid 5-1 win not only provided a lot of noise that scared Noah, it clinched a Kelly Cup berth for the Dogs in the ECHL.

Without pro hockey this season, leagues like the ECHL are the only game in town. And, given the price of the ticket and the fun that we have, its no wonder that nobody misses the NHL!
